GradeNext ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and that of the students and families we serve. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights available to you — including specific rights for California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
We collect information you provide directly — such as a parent's name, email, phone number, billing details, and a student's grade level and subject interests — along with usage data like session activity, practice results, device/browser information, and progress within the platform.
We use this information to personalize learning plans, match students with mentors, share progress reports with parents, process payments, provide customer support, and improve our AI-driven platform. We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not "share" personal information (as defined under the CPRA) for cross-context behavioral advertising.
GradeNext serves students from KG through high school. In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we collect only the information reasonably necessary to provide tutoring services to a child, and a child's account must be created and supervised by a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly permit children to make purchases, and we do not use children's information for targeted advertising. Parents may review, correct, or request deletion of their child's information at any time by contacting us.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose about you; request deletion of your personal information; correct inaccurate personal information; opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not currently sell or share personal information); limit use of sensitive personal information; and receive equal service and price even if you exercise these rights (non-discrimination). To exercise any of these rights, email contact@gradenext.comwith "California Privacy Request" in the subject line. We will verify your identity before fulfilling your request and respond within 45 days as required by law.
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect account and progress data, including encrypted storage, encrypted transmission (TLS), and restricted internal access on a need-to-know basis.
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion at any time, subject to legally permitted exceptions.
You may update your account information, opt out of marketing emails, or request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by contacting us at contact@gradenext.com.
GradeNext is based in Livermore, California, and this policy is governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
